Intraabdominal Adhesion, Internal Herniation and the Result: Short Bowel Syndrome - A Case Report
Adhesions can occur after abdominal surgery. Adhesions can be asymptomatic or can cause abdominal pain, internal herniation and mechanic intestinal obstructions. In our case, whom appendectomy was performed 5 years ago, there was an adhesion between the intestinal loop and cecum and a tunnel occured between intestinal loop and bowel mesentery. Necrosis has occurred as a result of herniation of intestinal loops from this tunnel and a 180 cm of small bowel has been resected. In our case report, problems that we met have been discussed.
